Udupi: Arthur Barboza from Shankerpura passes away in Kuwait

Udupi, Sep 23: Arthur Douglas Barboza, from Shankerpura, Udupi district passed away in Kuwait on Saturday September 20.

A communication to this effect has been received by the NRI Forum of the government of Karnataka from the embassy of Kuwait. The cause of death is not yet known.

He was the son of John Barboza and Dulcine Rodrigues. The mortal remains have been placed in a mortuary in Kuwait.

The forum vice chairman through Anand Mirji conveyed the news to the family through Kundapur Revenue Assistant Commissioner Yogesh on Monday September 22 night.

The forum is liaising with the embassy of Kuwait regarding repatriation of the mortal remains or possibility of holding the final rites in the Gulf state. It is also in touch with the embassy of India in Kuwait.

There is an apprehension among the family circles that the repatriation process could take a long time in view of long holidays in the Middle East for Eid-al-Adha, during which the government offices and private establishments would remain closed.
