Udupi, Sep 26: In an incident reported at Padukere, Kota here on Thursday September 25, two persons died after they fell into a tanker while cleaning it.

The deceased are Abbas (45) and Salam (20).

The tanker belonged to Abbas. He has been transporting waste from a private firm named Janata Fish Meal company for the past three years on contract basis.

As per the reports, while Abbas and Salam were cleaning the tanker container on the fateful day, Salam slipped and fell inside the container. Abbas rushed to save Salam, but he too fell inside. Both fell unconscious inside the container.

The locals who got to know about the mishap came and managed to take out the duo from the container. But before they could be given any medical treatment, Abbas and Salam died on the way to the hospital.

It is said that both the deceased were related to each other, Salam being the nephew of Abbas. Salam had just come to assist his uncle as the regular cleaner was on leave. Abbas was a hardworking person who had bought the tanker with a loan to make the ends meet. He has left behind his wife and two children.

Kota police are handling the case.
