Udupi, Sep 27: Raghupati Bhat, former MLA of Udupi constituency, organized a press meet on Friday September 26 at the BJP office in Kadiyali.

Addressing the media, he objected to the process of clearing the land of farmers who are residing on Kumki land or on illicit land.

He added that already a draft notification has been issued in this regard. Bhat explained that Kumki land was government land adjoining the agricultural fields in which farmers were allowed to take up activities supporting agriculture.

He further added that the revenue department must stop issuing notifications to people who are living on illegal land.

Bhat further added that the revenue department must analyze the applications of eligible persons according to the various forms.

He demanded regularizing of the food supply which has occurred due to cancellation of ration cards. “Nearly 13,000 ration cards were rejected in the district. People are fed up by the confusion about the Adhaar card, so this needs to be clear,” added Bhat.

He further said that the party will stage a massive protest in this regard on Tuesday September 30 at DC office, Rajathadri.

Yashpal Suvarna, Kiran Kumar, former CMC president, city BJP president K Raghavendra Kini, and Rajiv Kulal were present.
