Now a beauty pageant for a cause

New Delhi, Sep 27 (IANS): To contribute towards the development of the girl child in the country, a beauty pageant titled “Prince and Princess of India 2014” will take place at Talkatora Stadium here Oct 6.

The event is organised by Rubz Fashions in association with a non-profit organisation Buddha Education Foundation.

All the money raised by the event during registrations and sponsorship will go to the foundation which works for the education of the girl child and underprivileged children, said a statement.

“We are associated with a number of social programmes and girl child education for the last many years and that's why we planned to create a platform where our youth can show their talent. Thus we launched an I.Q. (Intelligence quotient) and personality contest in awareness of "Girl child education and female foeticide," said show organiser Ruby Yadav.

The cause is also supported by actor Manoj Tiwari, singer Daler Mehendi and Mrs Asia Pacific Queen of Substance Maya Singh .

The auditions for the pageant will start here Sunday at Constitution Club of India.
