Udupi: Lokayukta raid on DySP Prabhudev Mane's residence

Udupi, Sep 30: Lokayukta police raided DySP Prabhudev Mane's residence, in Bhramagiri, Udupi.

This raid took place at 6:30 morning on Tuesday September 30.





At the same time, Prabhudev Mane's uncle's residence too was raided in Hubli.

The raid was conducted under the guidance of Lokayukta SP Sadananda Vernekar, DySP Umesh Shet and SI Mohan Kottary. Presently, the officials are conducting the verification process at Brahamgiri.

The Lokayukta conducted raids simultaneously at six places throughout the state.

During the raid, Lokayukta has seized vehicles and jewels worth 62 lac which is 92% more to the known sources of income, said Udupi Lokayukta DySP Umesh Shet.

    Dr. Mane is an innocent person. I don't think Lokayukta should be blamed either. The point is, correct people who accumulate 1000% of fraudulent wealth are still there. Neither Lokayukta or the government is able to indentify and detain them. It shows clear weakness in the system. Dr. Mane is the most dignified and honest person who has worked hard, spent several amount of over time in serving the communities. Lokayulka, you folks target the much bigger fishes, like politicians rather than honest government servants especially the police officers. Wow, when India can improve???

    sadanada vernkar what is assets made nobody can make if you give cbi anti corruption bureu it will come ,but he was catch mane sir its really sad,he is ruling on every police department,last week what he did in belgaum traffic cpi,i dont know how santoosh hegade sir quite,they speak abt corruption,sure manglorian sure do something

    If the Lokayuktha officers to enquire the police call records both official and personal they will get enough details to nab both corrupt officials and the one breaking law. They are some companies especially real estate companies who are in regular contact with some officers for exchange of favours.

    Word on the street is that DySP Dr P. Mane is innocent.. Honest cop has done prior service for Lokayuktha under Santhosh Hegde. Heard he is due for promotion and this is some defaming technique. Anyway, truth will be known soon. Till the final results are known, we should reserve our Judgement.

    Just imagine if all the money amassed through devious means is brought back into the system, our country would be the richest for sure!!!

    Black money amassed through various means is mostly invested in real estate in benami names and that is one of the main reasons why realty rates have gone through the roof without any genuine reason, one single person may be owning 10s of properties to hide the black money!! Jai Hind!!

    Lokayukta please raid karkala taluk office staff. For the date of birth and name change they are looking upwards and downwards. For the poor people how can they get certificats without -.they are roaming and roaming to the taluk office.

    I have noticed that DySP Prabhudev Mane is one of the worst corrupted police officer in the police department. He will fix all cases under the influence of bribes involve in civil matters, land dealings, family disputes, threatening people in dare consequences, harassing innocent civilians He is having millions of rupees collected through bribes. Government should take stern action against him / dismiss from service.

    We have seen all of this again and again. Nothing happens to these crooks is the word of exasperation from every comon man pan India. If any Govt is to be appreciated by people irrespective of how honest they are, is to take these people to next logical step. I could possibly suggest a few 1) Make a page in Govt website of all corrupt officials who been raided by Lokayuktha, the wealth that is confiscated, what punishment that is given to the culprit, what happened to the confiscated wealth?

    Law will take its course is the usual word that no longer people appreciate. People want actions and swift actions. Dismissal of the corrupt and confiscation of all the wealth with penalty, is somthing that people want to see, within 3-4months of such raids.

    Yes it is true - earlier (5 years) he hold the post of Lokayuktha Dysp.and raided so many officials. Is this a revenge? Any how truth has to come out after the investigation. In such case whom to believe ? Can we say all Lokayuktha Police are non-corrupt? Are they are not from the same police department? Let us wait and watch.

    Mr prabhudev Mane is One of the Most corrupted police officer in the police department.He will fix all cases under the influence of bribes,he is one of most corrupted police officer in department. He is having crores of rupees collected through bribes,I hope this lokayuktha raid was most evidence based to send him jail.I hats off lokayuktha officers.Like him many culprits are awaited in your list.     most corrupt people in india is police department , whether it is small money or big money, they just beg from the business owners for silly reason rather than serving the nation with 100 % commitment. from the constable to the higher level corruption is happening in every district , police department given huge hapta in the form of cash from the wine and bar owners for their illegal business. government should take strick action operation

    Most corrupt is police department followed by revenue,RTO(transport)...Corruptionfrom Village level to V.Soudha level is rampant in spite Lokayukta,Vigilance and ombudsman etc.AMMA's conviction (4yeards) & of 100 crore might be deterrent for corrupt politicians.Interestingly, those officers who were caught in the raids of Lokayukta would be getting same post where they were removed from!
