Dubai, Oct 2 : Count down begins for 'Pushpanjali', which is a musical tribute to Dubai's well-known Tulu language activist, actor, director and social activist Umesh Nanthoor. The event is scheduled on Friday, October 3 at Sheilh Rashid auditorium from 5.30 pm onwards.
The galaxy of local talents will sing, dance and perform comedy acts in the fun-filled non-stop four hour event.
Sangama Kalavidaru, a brainchild of late Umesh Nanthoor is organizing the event under the leadership of Noel Almeida.
"For friends and fans, his memory is still afresh, Umesh Nanthoor was fondly loved by all people irrespective of caste, creed and language." says Noel, who is confifent of giving fitting musical tribute to Nanthoor.
Naveen Koppa from Mangalore will be hosting the event. MLC Ivan Dsouza and ace Tulu movie director Vijaya Kumar Kodialbail will be guests for the event.
The Tribute to Umesh Nantoor will be purely a musical and comedy entertainment evening as Umesh had always promoted Tulu - Kannada- Konkani- Beary language music and comedy in UAE. Well known singers Vincent Rodrigues and Joshal D’Souza who qualified for the finals of Gulf Voice of Mangalore to be hosted in Muscat in November will be the special attraction during the event.
Ganesh Prasad, Raviraj Tanry, Rosald Sequeira, Harish Sherigar, Melvyn D’Souza, Sharath Ram, Shiva Kumar, Jamil, Dony Correa, Asha Correa, Akshata Rao, Mallika Bekal, JAMIL, Nikita Menezes, Bluma Pinto, Divyashree, Binil Thyagarajan, Sameer, Roshan Carolo, Gopi Kamath and Ashwat Samuel will also entertain the crowd through music.
Dubai's very own comedy artistes who rock the stage in Tulu, Konkani and Kannada skits Pradeep Barboza, Deepak Paladka and evergreen master comedian Chidananda Poojary along with Ashintha, Sandeep and Alphone Moodubelle will keep the audience busy through laughter sessions.
