It is a matter of pride to the Mangalorean Community that Melwin D'Silva has been elevated to the position of a Regional Manager in charge of The Middle East and African Range. To the best of my knowledge these promotions do not come as a gift to any one but indeed as a recognition of the services rendered to a company.

With regard to amenities and facilities in my opinion Air India should consider providing special terms to senior citizens.

With regard to frequent flyers, the points should allowed to be be carried forward for indefinite periods.

Hearty Congratulations to Mr. Melwin D’Silva on his new assignment as Regional Manager of Air India.
Our Best wishes for your success & of Air India. We are sure under your able leadership & Air India Team you will be able to achieve greater success.
It is true that “Air India” flies all the time & the only Airlines supported all Indians during causes & emergencies. At the same time it is also true “ our memories are very short lived”
“Ghar Ki Murgi - Dal Barabar, is very much true in case of Air India as we all take it for granted. We never stop to criticize our National Airlines by finding even minute faults & forget all the good things Air India has been doing from beginning. Yes, as one says “No one is perfect” it goes to everyone, but it is disheartening to hear being singled out.
We are sure, under your able leadership Air India will take all necessary steps to set right minor irritations & problems, which are magnified to make our National Airlines look bad in everyone’s eyes.
Passengers paying money to fly have their own rights & it is essential for “Air India to keep in mind few basic necessities of passengers like basic courtesy at counters and in aircraft, little care & passenger comfort, maintaining time, cleanliness specially in toilets, good food, little compassion, understanding the need of passengers…that is all!., These have to come from within & all that needed is a little change in the mindset that airlines succeeds only if they take care of passengers.
Same with passengers, little change in mind set cultivating love & national pride, belongingness, little tolerance, understanding of the situation & patience as well as little co-operation during unavoidable circumstances.
Clapping is only possible with 2 hands, so both Airline team & passengers have to join together to “RESTORE” pride of our National Airlines “AIR INDIA” to its past glory as No.1.
We wish all the success to your TEAM & Air India.
Herman Lewis & 105.4 RADIO SPICE TEAM.

Yes, as Indians we must certainly support our national carrier but my only request is not to take the passengers for granted. All staff members should work towards Air India regaining its pristine prestige and glory. Air India was once the pride of India and we want to see our airline being counted one among the world's best. Congratulations to the new Manager and wishing him all the best.
