Dubai, Oct 2: In today's young generation one can see a lot of music enthusiasts in rock music, western, Hollywood, Bollywood music and so on. But hardly there are youths connected to devotional music. A young boy from Vamanjoor is dedicating his free time for Konkani devotional music which is an amazing news.

23-year-old Melroy D'cunha has now come out with his maiden devotional album.

‘Taane Kelyaanth Vichitram’ (He has Done Wonders) a recently launched devotional musical album is now creating buzz around the Christian faithfuls. The album was initially released by Cyprian Pinto on Maria Jayanthi day, September 8, 2014. It was again released in Dubai on September 26, 2014 during Gulf Voice of Mangalore, UAE semifinals day, by Walter Nandalike, founder of Daijiworld.







This devotional album ‘Taane Kelyaanth Vichitraam’ is the product of the combined efforts of Carmelite priest and poet Alwyn Sequeira, who has penned the beautiful lyrics, reputed musicians and composers ‘Sangeeth Guru’ Joel Pereira and Roshan D’Souza who have done the music arrangement and Melroy D’Cunha of Vamanjoor who has composed the tunes.

Melroy has rendered his service through music in Vamanjoor church as well as in Infant Jesus church in Bikkarnkatta right from a young age. He also plays musical instrument. He once created history by being the youngest musician in 'Nirantari' musical event in Kalaangann, Mangalore and his name was entered in Guinness world record.

Melroy is an engineer by profession and is currently residing in Dubai. He is son of former MCC bank chairman Melvyn D'cunha and Doreen D'cunha from Vamanjoor.

After the release of the album in the presence of around two thousand devotees of mother Mary, Melroy was honoured with a shawl on behalf of the parish for his artistic efforts.

Produced under the banner of Velankani Productions, 'Taane Kelyaanth Vichitraam' music album is presented to the Konkani music lovers by Melvin D’Cunha, the renowned social worker and activist.
