Kundapur, Oct 5: All the police officials in the district and commandos participated in an attractive flag march to promote communal harmony in Kundapur on Saturday, October 4.

DySP C B Patil said that the flag march was held in order to maintain communal harmony on the eve of Vijayadashami and Bakrid festivals.

 

The flag march was set in motion at Beejadi by police circle inspector P M Diwakar. The flag march proceeded via Kumbri road, Enkodi and went towards national highway via Vinayaka. It proceeded to the main market from there, turning near Ferry road Mosque and ended in Gangolli after Shastri circle.

Thirty commandos, one open truck, seven Hoysala vehicles, police circle inspector, sub-inspectors and policemen participated in the flag march in their vehicles.

    Good move to avoid communal riots. These should be also as a surprise event, as then people shall not be able to justify as and when the commandos shall arrive. This will off course create a fear in public and they shall think 100 times more prior creating any issues.
