Mangalore: Fight erupts over fund collection for J&K flood victims, two injured

Mangalore, Oct 6: Two persons were injured after fight broke out over the issue of collecting funds for flood-affected people in Jammu and Kashmir. The incident took place near Volajjal Padavu Mosque here on Sunday October 5.

Abdul Rehman (48) and V Abbas (45) were attacked allegedly by Rafique, Pathonji Ismail and other unidentified persons.

It is learnt that persons identified as Naufal and Ubedulla were collecting funds for flood-affected persons in Jammu and Kashmir. An argument arose after Ismail and others objected to the fund collection. Soon, the arguments snowballed into a fight between two groups, and Rehman and Abbas who supported the fund collection were allegedly attacked with a machete.

The victims were admitted in Highland Hospital at Kankanady.

A case of attempt to murder has been registered in Mangalore rural police station.

    We have a very efficient Deputy Commissioner - Mr. Ibrahim in Mangalore and he has made very clear that no attempts at fund raising for J and K victims should be made without prior sanction from the department.

    Again - why quarrel over issues like these. It is time that we learn to live as law abiding citizens and help The Government in whatever way we can instead of getting into quarrels.

    safwan we can insist the persons willing to give cash donation they can buy medicine which was urgnetly needed by j k flood victims. the medicine i h ave dispatched are donors who have offer the cash i changed to medicine and dispatched.sawfanbhai let us work together for the welfare of people of this nation.

    ..He doesnt know that SANGHI's are the first people to reach for rescue in natural disaster..Its one of the largest humanatarian agency..whether it is Khedarnath,Assam,Kutch or J&K..Its the Congress/sicularist who all these 60 years tried to malign RSS due to political affiliation..Safwan better better understand difference between JUD,ISIS,IM & RSS..

    collecting of any donation should come voluntarily. forcefully taking donation is bad. just for daiji viewer i myself collected one tempo of used good condition clothes and medicines of several thousand of rupees and dispatched in few small cartoons to j k through volunteers of sri sri ravi shankar ashram. there is a saying that the donation given by right hand should not known to left hand. moreover the cash donation should be avoided.

    Dear raghavendra, They were collecting money volunterly , not like how sanghis and BD gundaas fetch from people.. PFI people well disciplined, If cash amount has to be avoided then wat type of donation do you expect, old vessels from your home to victims?? or is it your old dress to victims? islam teaches , when you donate, donate the thing which you would like to donate yourself, we will buy new things and gie it to them , not the oldies...

    rightly said Mr. Safwan these hypocrites donate all unwanted things and make a big publicity of it. Still instead of donating cash. new clothes and other new material can be bought with cash and then this new things can be donated.

    Looks like these injured elders knew the honesty of fund collecting youngsters so they might have objected it.
