Mangalore, Oct 6: Urva police arrested two persons involved in the murder of Mescom engineer on September 21. The arrest took place on Monday October 6.
Police commissioner R Hitendra, addressing a press meet at his office said that the accused have been identified as Siddappa (22) alias Siddu, resident of Ilangovan Koppa, Soudathi taluk, Belgaum and Rafiq (27), resident of Sayed Fir street, Nitoli, Davanagere.
The police also siezed a gold chain, revolver, 16 rounds bullet and Rs 5000. The accused revealed that part of the gold was kept in various finances organizations. Police said that the gold kept in finance organizations will be siezed immediately. The accused are also involved in various crimes and have cases registered against them in various poilce stations under Barke, Urva and Kadri station limits. They were also involved in the murder of an old lady at Alake on August 1.
In another case, Mangalore Kadri police inspector T D Nagaraj, PSI Rafiq and H S Bajantri with authentic information, arrested five individuals from near National Highway Maroli Jodukatte at around 3:30 am while they were plotting a loot.
The accused have been identified as Mohammad Azim alais Dilwale (23), resident of Farngipate, Pudu village, Ahamed Sadik (19) alias Sadik, resident of Katipalla, Nisar Husain (23) Katipalla, Hasanabba alias Naushad (23) and Y Shashidar (30), resident of Tergase Kundapur.
R Hitendra said athat they have also seized an Alto, a Ritz, lethal weapons, two chilly powder packets, four mobile phones and Rs 12,750 in cash.
The police recieved information that two cars were parked on the highway. On this information, the police took them into custody. During inquiry, it was known that they were involved in three looting cases under the limits of Mangalore Kadri police station, another looting case in Uppinangady near Udane, two looting cases at Sharidi, under the limits of Shakleshpur police station; in total they were involved in seven cases of looting.
They used rented cars with lethal weapons in it and looted lorry drivers and conductors who used to park their vehicles on the roadside by threatening and hurting them. They also used to stand on the National Highway and attacked vechiles that belonged to out of state. They used to show weapons and loot money from the drivers.
