Udupi: Bus conductor arrested for indecent behaviour

Udupi, Oct 7: Padubidri police have arrested a bus conductor who showed indecent behaviour with a minor girl. 

Maylottu, Mulki resident Rajesh Shetty (37) is the arrested person.

Rajesh worked as conductor with Salian bus. The girl who happened to travel in the bus for the past few days on some work was subjected to a series of misbehaviours by the bus conductor. On Sunday he allegedly made her sit in the rear seat to behave indecently with her. And on Monday when he saw her again, he even went to the extent of threatening her.

The girl, tired with the bus conductors inappropriate acts, complained to the police. Padubidri police are investigating after the arrest of the bus conductor.

    These are un-civilized rogues, I felt same experience in my last visit to India while I was traveling one of the BALLAL Travels bus from MOODABIDRI To MULKI,(Many people already know who is the conductor is..).. the conductor was so rude and he was pushing the females and Young College Girls and school girls in-appropriately.. not even stopping in right stop of their destination.. not issuing the tkts to the passengers. just like Monster..I know many peace lovers keep their mouth quiet and not mess up with them.. which is giving them more free hand for bad act..

    I was just observing him and felt like a teach him a lesson of his life.. once for and all.. even by sacking him from the job by contacting his bus owner.. BUT ..after all I was short term guest in Mangalore visited just for 5 days.. Lack of my time gap was only the reason that saved him..

    When I was a small kid there was a Muslim Driver for Manjunath Motors bus flying from Udupi to Hungarcutta. This bus was called as Hungarcutta bus. He was the 1st carry photos of Hindu, Muslim n Christians Gods in front as Alter. He used to be so prompt in his timings, every one like to board his bus. Once in a while he used to come to our house meal, when my uncles used to come on vacation from Bombay. He died of an heart attack some 20yrs ago. When ever I think of bus drivers, I will remember him a lot. May his soul rest in peace.

    I use to travel daily in SALIAN bus in 90s when i was going to school in Karkala. There was a conductor Named "CHANDRANNA" he was soo popular among all daily travelers.All kids from Nitte Belman side prefers to get SALIAN bus becoz of CHANDRU.I still remember his helping hand to the school kids even they forget to bring bus Fare.Jai ho "Chandranna"

    Every time i go to native place city or service bus journey getting worse. asking tkts conductor will frown/yell and rip and fling- u have to grab that flying tkt, rash driving, high footboard, 2rs, 5 rs rise every yr. Talking arrogantly not just to bijapur gowdas but expats like us also if u question!High time ordinary(not volvo only)govt buses with tkts are introduced on city and service bus routes.

    Bus conductors and auto drivers of undivided Dakshina Kannada are real rogues, with out basic manners and courtesy.Most of them are under literate and frustrated in life, act as just blood sucking bugs.
    However, they think that they are too smart and doing social service. Have you ever seen the conductors throwing tickets on your face? Have you seen them making fun of "Bijapur labours' as 'gowdas'? Auto drivers find happiness in refusing to drive you to your destination, that is also zooming off with out answering!Ordinary citizens of Southa Canara are being tortured from ages by these Bus and auto mafia.
    I have not seen any body travelling without cursing these real-life demons!! Public is helpless as these have strong unions and our politicians are depending on them for vote banks!! So who will bell the cat?
