Mangalore: Intruders cheat woman; walk away with valuables

Mangalore, Oct 8: Three persons cheated a woman and walked away with valuables worth Rs 38,000.

The three people who entered the house of the woman using a very polite method of ringing the door bell as genuine guests were unknown to her. She, without any suspicion opened the door and welcomed them. The intruders then threatened and looted her valuables including Rs 13,000 cash, three mobile phones and a gold bangle weighing 12 grams.

The incident took place at Padavinangady. The name of the victim is Alice Noronha.

    Comments by some persons is sometimes very sickening as they relate every crime committed to the party in power .It would be much better if comments are written to bring some solutions to solve the growing crime rate and also give inputs to law authorities in solving the problems. Crimes happen when innocent people get duped by people wanting easy life and easy money.It is always safer not to entertain any stranger to your home and lock the gates if you are alone at home.

    Robberies seem to be on a rise in a quiet place like Mangalore. Many perfer easy money making ways to earn a living. Wonder how long this money is going to last. We citizens need to look for a common solution to prevent such happenings.
    1. Close and lock all doors and windows
    2. Do not advertise your valuables anywhere in public - place TV sets away from windows.
    3. If possible get a home alarm system
    4. Do not discuss your vacation plans in public eg: beauty parlour, market area, in a conversation in a bus etc
    5. Never leave ladders, power tools, chairs etc in the open
    6. Know your neighbours - if you spot any suspicious person in your neighbourhood alert all
    7. Do not stock excess cash and jewellery at home
    8. Get a well trained watch dog if possible
    9. Curtain your home
    10. Landscaping - trim all plants to minimum height so that your home is visible to your neighbours

    if he finds one Hindu school teacher and there is a hoax mail, he will ask all the cops of three districts to be vigilant and here murder, chaaku choori, smuggling, rape, molestation and he is mum!!!
