Udupi: Miscreants damage flag post at Korangrapady rickshaw stand

Udupi, Oct 10: The flag post at Korangrapady auto rickshaw stand was damaged by some miscreants by throwing a boulder over it. The auto rickshaw owners and drivers have urged for an immediate arrest of the suspects.

The auto rickshaw stand was built 15 years ago and the flag post was installed seven years ago. Independence day is being celebrated here every year. On Thursday October 9 night some miscreants damaged the flag post by hurling a big boulder over it. An auto driver who saw it the following morning informed the police. The police officials visited the spot and inspected it.

It is suspected that a land dispute may be the reason behind damaging the flag post. A case has been registered in the town police station. Ashrayadata, Auto Union president Ramesh Shetty has warned of protests if the accused are not arrested soon.

    Prabhu Mam be kind to them. We are emotional people who believe in building everything including worship structures and idols in Government land (beside Roads). If Municipal Authorities demolish these structures what shall be your reaction ?????

    Who gave the permission to build a flagpole on the roadside??
    None of the readers are concerned about this habit od claiming Govt property.The municipal authorities should demolish this.

    who ever did this has to be caught and punished. people have lost their minds in Dakshina Kannada & Udupi . so many incidents reported on daily basis. i see people of different religious beliefs cannot stand each other. these people who do it have to be caught and punished. irrespective of Religion, Cast and Sex.

    While I agree to ur views... 1947 India: No Communal violence??/ are you sure?

    Unless u want to putt the partition and violence there off as "communal bracket" then it is OK!!... the history of communal violence much deeper , loong loong back!! infact -1946 calcutta riots were the worst... (direct action day), Mapilla violence,... or nagpur riots or any Ramnavami was never celebrated without a riot in north india!!!! we r and we were communal, n our emotions are always on a flash point on a religious matters!...only Gandhiji used to say "Hindus r cowards" and used to sit on a fast, if they act! and even post independence, before godhra or post godhra there have been 100s of communal riots!! I am afraid to say... :)

    we Indians are very famous in destroying instead of repairing.in everything.Looks like not having national pride,but take revenge ,Otherwise why should one go and destroy it.If they are so much against someone ,let them go and hit their head against it instead of destroying it.with a strong hit with head against ,it may come to healing of the stuff inside.when caught make him to repair .

    I really pity those who have done this, imagine not having patriotism to love a county, even the Pachhe(pakis),have their own country and have patriotism towards it, those who have done this has no country to love which is really bad,sympathise the bas****ds, that have done this.     One cannot build Flag Post at their whims and fancies. For everything there is rule of Law. Flag posts are to be erected in a proper place and appropriate place. Authorities should see that all unauthorized flag of all sorts are to be removed immediately and bring peace.

    This is not a big issue. ISIS may have done it. They have a big right on this country as it is a secular country. Give more freedom to people and more incidents like this will take place. This is nothing!! Pakistan flag is hoisted by many people in KArnataka . Recently paki flag hoisting happened in Hubballi by some indians itself! That is why I said this incident is no big deal. We must leave the country at the hands of anti nationals since we have so many anti nationals inside the country and now we can not control them as their numbers are huge!

    1947 Indians
    1. No National Flag, Bird, Animal etc. But full of patriotism and love towards mother India, and the utmost respect towards Gandhiji.
    2014 Indians.

    Every where Flag post ( cleaned only during Independence day and Republic day) but No respect to the Flag/Post etc.

    2.1947 India: No Corruption/ No Communal violence ( Except here and there 1 or 2. People respected each other. Unity in Diversity.

    2014 India Full of corruption, 1947 India: people had very less Education but had very high moral values

    2014 India : people have high education but no values.

    People must change their attitude and start loving/ respecting the nation. Till then you will see Pakistan, China, and other countries attacking India.
