Sydney, Oct 16: Fast bowler Jason Gillespie will captain the Australian Prime Minister's XI in a one-day match against England on Nov. 10 in Canberra, Cricket Australia said on Monday.

Gillespie leads a strong side which includes four other players with international experience in batsmen Phil Jaques and Mark Cosgrove, all-rounder Cameron White and fast bowler Shaun Tait.

"This is an important game for England in the build-up to the Ashes series and gives a great platform to some of our younger talented players," chairman of selectors Andrew Hilditch said in a statement.

"Jason Gillespie has been one of Australia's greatest servants in the past decade and many of his finest moments have come against England."

England's opening tour match takes place less than two weeks before the start of the first Ashes Test in Brisbane on Nov. 23.
