Bantwal, Oct 17: A mobike rider was killed on the spot after being by a container lorry near Ganiga Soudha at Panemangalore here on Monday October 16 afternoon.

The deceased has been identified as Ravindra Suvarna (40), a resident of Shediguri near Shambhoor here.  He owned a shop at Shediguri.  He was also a beedi contractor.

On Monday afternoon he was returning to Shediguri riding his two-wheeler after giving beedies to the main branch when the container lorry knocked him down near Panemangalore.  The container lorry was transporting four-wheelers to Mangalore.

As soon as the lorry hit his vehicle, Ravindra fell on the road.  But before he could recover, the lorry passed on his waist, killing him on the spot.

He is survived by mother, wife and a daughter.  The Bantwal town police have booked a case against the lorry driver.
