Sullia, Oct 11: Kamala, the late mother of D V Sadananda Gowda, Union Minister of Railways was instrumental in the development of D V Sadananda Gowda and his rise to such high position. She was the inspiration to bring the children up and struggled hard for their development.

Her husband had passed away when the children were young. She looked after the children well despite hardships and tried to get them good positions. When Sadananda Gowda was practicing law and became a political leader, he was living with his mother at Devaragunda. Later, when he became MLA, MP, BJP state president, chief minister and now minister of Railways, he had to remain away from his mother. Yet, he used to visit his mother at least once or twice in a month.

Though, his mother was sick a few months ago, she had recovered. “She had spoken to me for a long time when I came home last time. She had bid good bye with joy. I did not know that she will leave us so soon”, said tearful Sadanand Gowda.

He attributed his success to his mother and said, “My becoming the Railways minister and Chief Minister is the result of her hard work. I am deeply hurt by her absence”.
Speaking to media persons at Devarakunda, he said that she played a critical role for him and his brothers in politics, society and economic development.
“Our family members are shocked are grieving. The passing away of my mother and my sister Savithri Shivaram have increased the grief. The people have given me high position in the centre. I have to shoulder the responsibility in between the grief”, he said.

“I lost my father when I was in ninth standard. Our mother shouldered the responsibility of both father and mother and looked after six children. Our mother used to encourage us in all of our tasks by patting on our back. She is an example of how a mother can offer her children to society”, he added.
“She has given good education to all her children and made sure that we climbed the ladder of success. Her absence is a huge void in life”, he said.

Kamala(92) has passed away on Saturday, October 11. She breathed her last in Devarakunde house of Mundekolu gram of Sullia taluk at 2.45 am. Though she fell ill a few months ago, she had recovered. Her daughter Savithri Shivaram had passed away last Tuesday. Minister Sadananda

Srimathi Kamala had to take extra burden to give a better future for her children and she could accomplish her dream, indeed a model woman deserves greater praise.

May her soul rest in peace. His (DVS) 1st business cards were printed by me. I was having screen printing business with my cousin brother Wilfred in Puttur. DVS had a very small office near Sulia bus stand, in a very old building. in the 1st meeting itself I was Managed to get his order, even though he doesn't wanted to hv business card's, claiming Sulia is a small city n every one knows him. At that time unexpectedly I had met his mother. Than he had come to Puttur to contest MLA election n We Hemanath Shetty & Team indirectly helped him to win election with the margin of 405 votes. He had thanked us a lot. That was his beginning towards political growth.
