Udupi, Oct 14: In a tragic incident, a student from Manipal University died after he toppled from the fourth floor of an apartment here in Manipal on Tuesday October 14.

The incident took place at Pearl Apartments situated on the way that links Syndicate Circle and Deputy Commissioner's office at Manipal. The education stream of the student, identified as Vaibhav Singh (19) of Uattar Pradesh is still to be disclosed by the Manipal police.

The sad part was the auto drivers refused to carry the injured student fearing dire consequences that he had died. The locals phoned the ambulance and later he was taken to Manipal Hospital where he was declared dead.

However, police seem to have casting intended apathy, with showing reluctance to divulge more details on the death of student. The police blog which updates daily crime in the city twice a day failed to upload Vaibhav's case. It is gathered, during the occurrence of the incident at 6 pm, his three friends were present in the flat.

Though the accurate reasons are yet to be established through further investigations by the police who filed an FIR, locals expressed such incidents have been frequent these days citing drug abuse could be one of the reasons.

This is regarding my brother’s death. There’s a lot of rumours going so am writing this to clarify everything and am telling you the actual story. Its not suicide that lead to his death but accident. It happened so during a fight in his flat, but during all this his flat mates were presently not there , instead there were 4 other people with him . The accident took place while he was on call on some other’s cell. He fell along with the cell from 6th floor. According to the sources none present in the flat called the ambulance, there was a localite who called for the ambulance. His death took place before arriving at the hospital. All the belongings were taken by the police and everything else was returned except the phone on which he was talking. The information given to us by the police is that he fell along with his own phone which is not possible becz I have his phone and it is working perfectly. So the rumour that he fell while talking on his phone is false and does’nt make any sense. MIT has refused to uncover the truth. The four people who were present during this incident are not sticking to their statement .
Basiclly I want to get to the bottom of this, so anybody has any information regarding this please inbox me. At this moment any help will be appreciated because am looking for closure. I want to honor my brother’s memory.
SO PLEASE INBOX THE SMALLEST OF DETAILS THAT STRIKES YOUR MIND WHICH CAN PROBABLY HELP ME TO FIND THE TRUTH BEHIND MY BROTHER’S DEATH.
May his soul rest in peace.

Manipal university! Shame on you! So many cases are taking place in your university which result in death oh students! Their parents, friends and well wishers are told some fake stories. To save your reputation, you people hide the reality? This isn't fair at any cost! Their family and friends want justice! We deserve to know what actually happened. Pure shame!

@Peter Lewis, why should be the flats not given to the students?Think there are enough rooms in hostel available?Do you know how difficult to get a room in hostel?Afterall when they are able to pay why not help one ?All are not same voilent.may his Soul rest in peace.may be he was made drunk either or some mischief happened .but we dont know the reason.should not make our own conclusion.heartfelt sympathy to the Family.Poor Boy at a Age of 19years had to die far away from his People.

This to tell those people who think vaibhav was drunk or he took drugs!!!
Please guys. Don't assume things and make your own conclusion.
Vaibhav was talking on phone while he was sitting at the balcony AMD suddenly his phone fell and he tried to catch it and unfortunately he slipped and he fell. It was too late to take him to the hospital! He died.

Vaibhav rest in peace my love :) I will miss you a lot.

Is it a accident or murder or drug overdose. Matter should be investigated thoroughly and guilty if any should be punished. What is the logic of police of not reporting such crimes to the public

See the apathy of the police in this incident.

The PROPOGANDA of hiding facts from public has been running since decades in Manipal. Specially the cases which Manipal university students involved are being forcefully closed or compromised, this case is not exception.

Its high time to the concerned, to begin with parents/University administration/Police/Students/Public and the DC (Who is stationed locally) to take step towards the untoward happenings in Manipal. Sad part is, the issues are not published due to the Administration influence. Manipal once a heaven has become today haven for all illegal activities. Its high time to take up the matter by locals against all odds, if no action has been taken.
