Kasargod, Oct 14: In a tragic road accident, two individuals died after a private bus rammed over their motor bikes after the bus driver lost control due to high speed.

The incident was reported on Tuesday October 14 morning at Seethangoli.

The deceased have been identified as Abdul Nasar (36), resident of Nellikunje CTM and Mohammed Kunhi alias Podia (42), resident of Puthige.

Abdul Nasar's son Naufal (4) and Irshad (35) who were on a scooter were severely injured in the incident. They were admitted to the hospital in Mangalore.

The accident occurred at Seethangoli town, while a private bus named ZMT was plying from Kasargod towards Seethangoli. It is learnt that Nasar succumbed on the spot while Mohammed passed away while he was being rushed to the hospital. Abdul Nasar and his son were riding on a Yamaha bike; Mohammed Kunhi and Irshad were riding on a Honda Activa scooter. The bus, after hitting a cow, rammed into the two motor vehicles.

Both the motor vehicles were dragged for about 100 meters and were completely damaged in the incident. Immediately, a mob gathered and pelted stones on the bus and damaged the glass. Traffic was disrupted as all the private buses were stopped. Eye witnesses alleged that the incident occurred due to over speeding. Commuters in the bus suffered minor injuries and were shifted to Kasargod and Kumble hospitals.

Nasar's mortal remains were identified from his driving licence which was found in his pocket. Police transferred the mortal remains to Kasargod General hospital. Nasar was employed in the Gulf and had returned to his hometown two months ago. He had planned to return to Gulf within few days.

It is said that as soon as the accident took place, the bus driver and conductor fled from the spot.

Wrong report!!!. Bus was over speeding because of break fail. Bus driver's Heroism saved many lives. Bus was full of passengers. Had the bus driver hit the circle, the death toll would have much higher.

Krishna Krishnaa..... If it was govedrnment bus, government should have given them compensation right?? .... dont take sides of the owners, they will get enough "insurance claims".. the one who lost his life and the driver who worked for him, for peanuts will rot in jail!! ... no one does this intentionally.. an accident is accident...!! if a driver doesn't stop in one bus stop (PAJE BUS MAARE), to get more passengers, he can drive in normal speed to keep up with his timings.. but he waits to get his bus full and then he will have to hurry to reach his next stop...!! I have enough friends who own buses... teach one of them a proper lesson, and make sure, they hire competetent drivers,n gives the drivers enough benefits, they will drive safe!!... Ini kode, even I am scared to sit in few private buses cos of their reckless driving...

avvu poora sayyad, ZMT da owner irena gurtada jana na???ancha itterda, onthe compensation korpale... nama childish atte.. :)

Driver gets license without any test. People drive scooter, motor cycle without proper training, Helmet, overloading. Roads are made for vehicles but we see people, animals are roaming on the roads. People walk on the road due to our footpaths are occupied by hawkers
