Kundapur, Oct 16: A young lady from Hattiangadi in the taluk, who has become pregnant now, has filed complaint against her elusive lover, who she said, is shirking from responsibility and avoiding contact with her after learning that she had turned pregnant.

The girl said that she came close to Ganesh from Kerady village in the taluk when studying in a college in the town, and initial friendship had blossomed into love in course of time. She alleged that Ganesh, who acted like being in love with her, developed physical relationship with her, after promising to marry her.

"Ganesh thereafter went to Bangalore. After learning that I had conceived, he asked me to come to Bangalore, but escaped from meeting me. He has since been avoiding me. I am into the eighth month of pregnancy now. Ganesh has become untraceable. In the guise of love, he raped me," she explained to the police.

Based on the complaint, the police of women's police station here have arrested Ganesh. Investigation is progressing.
