Mangalore: Brawl near railway station – four held

Mangalore, Oct 16: Four persons, who were fighting with each other in public place near the central railway station here on Wednesday October 15, were arrested by policemen from Pandeshwar station.

After being informed that a gang was creating ruckus in the area, Pandeshwar assistant police sub-inspector, Jayanth, visited the spot. Although he asked the youth not to indulge in disturbances, they did not heed to his request. Within a few minutes, the youth fought a pitched battle with each other, after which they were arrested and taken to the police station.

The arrested men have been identified as Abdul Rehman (24) and Dilip D'Souza (22) from Permannur, Rajendra (39) from Ullal, Namrat (24) from Kumpala. Another accused, Naveen from Thokkottu, managed to flee from the scene, it is learnt.
