Mangalore: Man commits suicide by jumping into well at Bajpe

Mangalore, Oct 17: Ganesh (26), a cobbler by profession allegedly committed suicide after jumping into a public well near gram panchcyat, Bajpe.

It is said that Ganesh was missing from the past four days. It is also said that he worked as a cobbler at Kaikamba, near Bajpe, but was not working from the past few days and seemed to be mentally unsound.

He was depressed after the death of his mother. Ganesh lost his mother on July 12, 2013 when the roof of her house collapsed at Bajpe-Thottilugundi.

The fire service and Bajpe police arrived at the spot and the body was fished out of the well.

A case has been registered in Bajpe police station.

    Sad..govt. spends a lot on agricultural loss due to rain etc..no norms in place to inspect structural safety of homes of poor people. It is a sin to be an administrator not doing essential structural safety assessment of poor people's home and taking precautionary measures to mitigate potential problems. Ward members should use municipality engineers to do structural safety inspection of poor people's home and also others who need such service from muncipality. At least such roof collapse can be prevented and also potential deaths and other deaths triggered by loss of life. Better sense prevail.

    Very sad.He was afterall 26years old.of course,loosing mother is a sad incident ,but one cannot do anything.Have to accept the matter and slowly get adjust to normal life.He must have not most probably.but didnt he have friends,or any other relatives who could help him in this misery?He must have taken it too much into his heart.sad.May his Soul rest in Peace.
