Mangalore, Oct 18 : Out of the many Nominations / Applications received, the Mandd Sobhann Core Committee has chosen Roshan D’Souza, Angelore, for the ‘10th Kalakar Puroskar’.
Roshan D’souza is a young Konkani Music Composer who has introduced a new trend in Konkani Music. This new trend is popular among the youth and is being also followed by other young composers. He is a proficient and much-in-demand Music Arranger, an accomplished Guitarist, a Singer and a Music Teacher.
Kalakar Puroskar is awarded to deserving artistes, one every year, of Karnataka origin, chosen from the field of Folk-Arts, Theatre, Music, and Konkani Performing Arts. The Award instituted by Mandd Sobhann and sponsored by Carvalho Ghorannem. This is the 10th. The Award involves a cash amount of Rs. 25,000/-, a trophy and public honour.
The Awards Ceremony will be on Nov. 2, 2014, at Kalaangann, at 6 p.m.. The Ceremony will be followed by the 155th Monthly Theatre Programme – ‘Konkani Loak-Kala Darshan’, folk songs and performances – Lamp dance, Goaf dance, Musal, Dangar, Zagor, Ghodde Moddnni, Kunnbi, Dekhnni – by Lok Rang Kala Sangh, Goa. All are welcome.
