Mangalore: Rain brings respite from heat

Mangalore, Oct 18: Rain coupled with thunder and lightning made its appearance late evening and night of Friday October 17 at various places within Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts. The people of the twin-districts, who were reeling under sweltering heat since some days, got much-needed respite from heat as a result.

Sullia and Karkala taluks received good rainfall. Kinnigoli and Kadaba experienced less of rain and more of thunder and lightning. Several parts of Beltangady taluk got normal rain. Siddapur, Shankaranarayana and Hallihole villages in Kundapur taluk also got good rain. The city too experienced rain on Friday night.

The meteorological department, in its prediction valid till Sunday morning, has predicted thunder and lightning in several places within state coast and some places located in southern inland of the state.
