Udupi, Oct 19: Locals and members of a religious organization handed over the students of two different communities to the police on Friday, October 17. The students were said to have found walking together on the Kadipatna beach in Padubidri.
The group consisting of six girls including the daughter of a businessman had come to Padubidri beach. Meanwhile a group of six boys from another community had also come for a walk in the beach.
The locals who saw the two groups informed the organization which visited the venue to have heated arguments with the boys.Meanwhile two girls from the group started arguing with the organization saying “You call the police if you want. We are not scared. We are just friends. Leave us alone.”
The activists pacified the girls to inform their parents later.
It is said that the both groups were the students of a college in Mudarangadi and had come to the beach for discussing about a re union. However activists of the organization alleged that two of the boys in the group were not studying in the mentioned college at all.
The locals have condemned the behaviour of students saying that these days the incidents of "love between two communities" have increased.
Padubidri station police arrived at the place and took the concerned to the police station to close the issue peacefully.
