Bangalore girl Noyonita to represent India at Miss Universe in US

Mumbai, Oct 21 (Agencies) : In a glittering ceremony attended by Bollywood personalities Akshay Kumar and Esha Gupta, Bangalore girl Noyonita Lodh was crowned Yamaha Fascino Miss Diva Universe 2014 here on Sunday evening evening.

The 21-year-old winner, who saw off competition from 14 contestants, will now represent India at the Miss Universe pageant to be held in Miami, US.

22-year-old Alankrita Sahaia, a student from Delhi and another Bangalore girl Asha Bhat, an engineering student, were declared the first and second runner-up respectively at the pageant's finale.

Lodh, a student of St Joseph's College of Commerce, also won the sub-contest title of Miss Rampwalk at the pageant. At the age of 18 she was the second runner-up at the Miss Bangalore beauty contest.

Lodh, a firm believer of women empowerment, wants to make significant contribution towards it.

The grand finale was judged by a galaxy of eminent personalities from different walks of life, including, former Miss India and actress Esha and Bollywood star Akshay, who also performed at the event.

The divas were dressed by ace designer duo Shantanu and Nikhil. The collection represented 'Rani Sultanat', a story of a queen who is couture herself and where no one ever talks about her demise.

Their hair and make-up were done by Dessange Paris. The event was hosted by actress and former Miss Universe Lara Dutta, who has mentored the contestants right from the beginning.

This year's auditions that took place across the length and breadth of the country aimed at finding contestants with the finest combination of utmost beauty and smartness.

The selection process, which was aired on Zee Cafe in the form of a TV series, saw the weakest link eliminated at the end of every episode where the tasks were judged by experts from fashion and Hindi film industry like Sonam Kapoor, Randeep Hooda, Kunal Kapoor, Rana Daggubati, Falguni and Shane Peacock among others.

So far, India has won the Miss Universe title twice- actress Sushmita Sen in 1994 and Lara in 2000.

We are all dying for beautifying ourselves, shaping eyebrows, applying cream and lipstick and many more things. Human beauty is temporary, just like flowers, flowers bloom in the morning and evening fade away. If beauty is not important but other things also needed. I agree with the comments below. but faces are looking aged and no glow no flesh on face. looks like buddi....parents of decent family background will not allow to participate in such contests
    hahahaha

Noyonita Lodh is a stunning girl. You think it is so easy to find beautiful girls in India for pageants these days? They are all obsessed with Bollywood and show-biz. Thought pageants are a short cut to these, there are much easier ways to launch yourself. That's why pretty girls do not compete in pageants anymore...all you people passing nasty comments on Noyonita...the next time you see a stunning girls please go ahead and try convincing her to try her luck at miss india. You'll get your answer. And also try to understand that what we Indians call stereotypical BEAUTY, does not work in miss universe anymore...dark skin can also be beautiful and exotic.

Moreover, Guys, try to understand what exactly Miss Universe looks for. The criteria has changed drastically over the years. Unlike the days of Sushmita and Lara...especially now since it is being owned by Donald Trump. Thats why the latinas do very well in miss universe. Check out the previous winners and you will see. Leila Lopez, Ximenna Navarete, Stefania Fernandez, Gabriela Isler they all have the typical looks that Noyonita has.
Mark my words...if not winning it, this girl will easily make it to the top 5 at least. She is already a huge sensation in the US, Latin America and the Philippines where this pageant is a big craze.

PS: I'm not related to Noyonita nor a friend. I do not know her personally but I have met her. And she is smart, gracious and stunning.

    Breaking News...
I got a phone call ,scolding me nicely for describing the one lady runner -up on the right ,O.k.
She gave me left, right and centre. The conversation ran like this..
Caller Madam: U..U...How can U... She was tense...all those tests and all... Do you think she's somebody like Jossey to poke fun of?
Me: But but..I do not poke Jossey.I state the obvious...
Caller: Whatever it is! Do not make fun of girls. They get nervous sometimes. especially on their day of marriage...
    Me: Which day again...Madam?
    Caller.M: Marriage day...
    Me: Now..you must be joking!
    Caller M: Why?
Me: Boys look paler than her on the day of and forever after marriage...
Caller M: UUUUUUUUUU...Wait till i lay my hands on you and...
Me: Many have said that before M'am...I won't be responsible for anything that happens afterwards..
    She disconnected.

    Now knowing You...
You won't stop at the cheeks.
    You will start coming down.
I am an extremely shy person.
So I will write only this.
    EEks where ae the Cheeks!
Anything if you want me to describe also I cannot. Flowers are hiding them you see.
You and all ask and laugh.
I get phone calls scolding me for telling the truth. Not fair!
My wife also called and asked about Latha Rego.
She said I kept it a secret from her.
Now tell me do all husbands reveal everything to their wives? Some they keep for themselves. is it not?
    Ask Misquith..Flavian...
Not convinced..Ask Jossey...Even he will say yes.
    Don't ask for more O.K.

    1. There are lots of beautiful girls in India, Mangalore or Bangaluru wherever but if they are not in this show whoever interested they have gone and won the show.
    2. Beauty comes from the heart and intelligence not only the face here they count the most the contestants answers to their questions.
    3. Winning contestants are answering the questions amazingly but how many of them are following and living their word? none.
so these kind of events are only to make money thats it.
    4. If they really want to find the "Ms India" or Ms Universe i think they should give chance to all the pretty girls whoever willing to do.

1.If Ramsay , the horror film supremo was present he would have signed the winner on the spot for his film and would have titled it
    'Daayan ke Daanth'
    2. The 'Runner Up' on the right hand side looks like she has just run a marathon or is suffering from constipation. Were no doctors atttending on her?
3.The one on the left should have walked away with all the honours.
During my times, not long ago, there was a girl named Latha Rego...(not sure of the sur name)
living near my place. Saw her the other day.Think she never contested any of these 'so called
contests'. If she had, she would have won each and every contest!
What a beauty she was and still is...
She had studied in the convent....
Hmmmmmmmmmmm..You want me to reveal everything aa??
The girl honestly does not know that I and so many of us ..think she is very very beautiful!
It has to be like that!
The moment you tell a girl she is extremely beautiful ,then she develops imaginary wings and then comes down with a thud!
You should be extremely careful, handling such beautiful girls!
Tell them only that much and see to it that their feet are planted firmly on the ground! Is it not?

All divas were looking great with their pageants. Alankrita looks beautiful like a real princess. From the make up to dresses everything was perfect with the divas. I love fashion & for that I do a lot shopping through prominent fashion store like Woollen-wear.
