Bantwal: Hit by pickup vehicle, young bike rider loses life

Bantwal, Oct 21: A youth, who was riding a motor bike, sustained critical injuries after a pickup vehicle hit him at Pachchinadka in Kallige village in the taluk on the evening of Monday October 20. He died while being taken to a hospital for treatment.

Vinod (28), son of Ramesh Poojary from Kolya in Sajipamooda village, was the ill-fated victim of this accident. Ramesh Poojary works as a mason.

Vinod used to work as a sales representative for a company engaged in manufacture of chocolates. He was returning home after the day's work, when he was hit by a vehicle unexpectedly. The locals immediately took him to a private hospital at B C Road, but he had breathed his last by then. His body was later shifted to a private hospital at Thumbe, it is gathered.

A case was registered by town station police sub-inspector, Nandakumar, who has undertaken investigation of this case.
