Mangalore: Theft from house when family was away

Mangalore, Oct 21: A complaint was filed on Monday October 20 at Kavoor police station here,relating to a theft reportedly committed in a house owned by A Diwakar Hegde recently.

Hegde said in his complaint that he had left the city on a visit to his son's home in Bangalore along with wife on October 9. A woman named Shantha, who works as housemaid, called him over phone on October 18 to inform that the rear door of his house was ajar, and the lock of the front gate had gone missing.

Diwakar said he then called his brother­in­law, M Sadashiva Hegde, to visit his home and check.

Sadashiva found that things were strewn around inside Diwakar's house. As per an estimate, things worth about one lac rupees including silverware, silk saris, handy camera, Rado watch, car wash machine, light charger, DVD player, cable set up box, and two ladies watches had been found stolen.

Kavoor police have registered the complaint.
