Mangalore: Police Martyrs Day observed at DK District CRP ground

Mangalore, Oct 21: Police Hutatma Diwas (Police Martyr’s Day) was observed at DK District CRP ground here in Mangalore on Tuesday October 21.

This year 650 police officers laid down their lives in the line of duty in various incidents across the country.

Every year October 21 is observed as Police Hutatma Diwas across the nation.



The policemen gathered paid tribute to these martyrs and saluted their gesture of valor.

Uma M.G, District & Sessions Judge of Dakshina Kannada was the chief guest at the programme.

IGP Amrit Pal, Police commissioner R Hitendra and Superintendent of Police (SP) Dr Sharanappa were present along with host of other policemen.

The dignitaries offered garland at Hutatma memorial.

    The Department of Law and Order all over the world do a great job looking after the interests of the people and trying to resolve their problems.

    It is sad that in the course of their duties some have laid down their lives. It is but fair that they should be honored every year.

    I join Mr. Paul, Mr.Hitendra, Mr. Shranappa and other officers in paying tribute to these brave people who lost their lives. THEY ARE INDEED MARTYRS.
