Udupi, Oct 25: Pramod Madhwaraj, president, Dakshina Kannada Mogaveera Mahajan Sangha, has blamed the deputy commissioner for his recent decision to collect parking fees from the vehicles parked beside the Malpe beach.

Addressing a gathering ‘Diwali Dhamaka’, a programme organized at the Malpe beach by Malpe Beach Friends, he said that it is not right to collect parking fees without making any developments at the beach.

MLA K Raghupathi Bhat seconded Madhwaraj’s statement and said that the DC should have asked him to participate at the development committee meeting, or in the least should have brought it to his notice before the decision was made. He added that it is feasible to collect parking fees once the developments are done.
