Raichur, Oct 23: District superintendent of police, M N Nagaraj, expressed the suspicion that the two employees of Karnataka Bank 's branch here, S S Sundaram (48), and attender, Sharath (26), whose lifeless bodies were found sometime after they came to the office for working on Sunday, would have suffocated to death.

He said prima facie it appears that both of them would have died due to shortage of oxygen. He added that the postmortem report, receipt of which might take sometime, is expected to give clearcut reason behind their deaths. 'In the meanwhile, our investigation is in progress. Closed circuit camera footages are being examined. The front door of the branch made of glass was closed, and we are checking to see whether the generator had been switched on because of absence of electricity, and whether inhalation of carbon monoxide caused their deaths.

The SP said that the staff appeared to have attended the office on a holiday to complete pending work. He said that the investigation report will conclude about the cause of deaths after going through all relevant information.
