Karkala: Seven people arrested for gambling 'Andhar Bahar' on Deepavali

Karkala, Oct 24: Seven people were arrested by Karkala rural station police here for gambling in 'Andar Bahar' on Deepavali day.

The accused were gambling for personal gain after pledging their money behind Mala Hukratte Government Higher Primary school.

The arrested have been identified as Manjalthar Nithyananda (38), Nallooru Kodanchadka resident Jaggu (34), Mala Hukratte Darkhas houses resident Rajiv (34), Mala Hukratte Gundooni resident Babu (34), Mala Hukratte Kadandalke resident Dharmanna Moolya (56), Mala Hukratte Dharkastu house resident Babu (36) and Mala Hukratte Nekkarepalke resident Rakshit Shetty (24).

The police have recovered the items used for gambling and Rs 2,500 and have registered a case.
