Karkala, Oct 24: Widespread destruction was reported in the heavy rain coupled with thunder and lightning in Karkala Taluk, on Thursday evening, October 23.
Electric gadgets in the house of Renjala Nemiraj were spoiled in the lighting causing a loss of Rs six thousands. Similarly, the electric gadgets of Mourice Noronha were spoiled in the lightning incurring a loss of Rs ten thousands.
The loss at the house of Amani Nalke due to lightning is said to be Rs 20 thousands. Lightening has caused cracks on the wall of Kariyakallu resident Suresh Shetty besides spoiling gadgets. The loss here was estimated to be Rs 25 thousands.
