Accident at Dharmasthala - Pillion rider dies

Beltangady, Oct 24: An accident involving a bike and a KSRTC bus at Dharmasthala here on Friday October 24 claimed the life of the pillion rider on the bike.

The deceased has been identified as Ananda Shetty (45), son of Saguna Shetty from Nerthane, Dharmasthala.

The deceased as a pillion rider was travelling with the bike rider Ashok towards Dharmasthala, when a KSRTC bus plying between Mangalore and Dharmasthala hit the bike in front of Dharmasthala welcome arch. Ananda Shetty died on the spot while Ashok was injured.

Ananda, originally from Chikmagalur, was known fondly as Pandu in Dharmasthala. He was a resident of Dharmasthala for years and worked for goldsmith shop. He is survived by wife who work for the temple, a son and a daughter.
