Bijapur, Oct 25: In a heart-rending incident which occurred in Gudadinni village in the district on the night of Thursday October 23, three members of an agriculturist family consumed insecticide and bid adieu to the world. Reportedly, the family was reeling under heavy debt.
The persons who committed suicide are Renukappa Mallappa Sunagara (75), his second wife, Yallavva Renukavva Sunagara (55), and their only daughter, Gangubai Renukappa Sunagara (27).
A suicide note in Gangubai's handwriting was found from the spot. In the note, Gangubai said she was solely responsible for her death. She also listed out names of villagers from whom loans were raised, and the amount of due to them by her family.
A case stands registered in Nidagundi police station relating to this incident.
