Mangalore: Rain continues to keep date with coastal districts

Mangalore, Oct 25: The drizzle which began late evening on Friday October 24 in many parts of the twin districts in Karnataka coast continued all through the night, gaining in intensity at times. Some regions in the coast including Hebri and Bantwal received particularly heavy rain. Lightning inflicted losses on some residents during this period.

Moodbidri received heavy rain along with lightning and thunder on Friday evening. In addition, rain was also reported from Karkala, Brahmavar and Puttur.

After lightning struck the house of Balanje Kalmane Narayan Poojary, several electrical and electronic equipments were damaged.

A release from the meteorological department has predicted rain coupled with thunder and lightning to visit almost all the regions in the state's cost and some places in southern inland. It said some places in northern inland will also get rain with thunder.
