Mangalore, Oct 27: The newly elected mayor of Mangalore City Corporation Vijaya Arun has placed her priority to be road construction.

Speaking to the press from the mayors chair, Vijaya said that road construction and completion of pending projects would be her prime focus. Major proportion of her funds would be used for asphalting roads as it is the need of the hour.

The MCC has already called tender to undertake ferver finish asphalting worth Rs 2.5 crore while another asphalting project worth Rs 1.5 crore will be implemented within Dec 2006.

City’s infrastructure will also get attention, Vijaya assured adding that the Rs 2 crore will be raised for the second vented dam.
