Udupi, Oct 27: Udupi taluk will be given two new industrial areas. This was announced by minister for small industries Shivananda Naik.

Speaking to press persons here on Thursday, Naik said that one industrial area would be developed in 220 acres of land at Anjar near Hiriyadka. Another area would come up at 130 acres of land at Nandikur near Padubidri.

The government has released a sum of Rs 1 crore for development of the Manipal Industrial Area. The new industrial areas would be provided all required infrastructure.

While the KDF Government has released subsidy worth Rs 84 crore in the first phase for SSIs, Rs 69 crore has been released in the second phase and Rs. 25 crore in the third phase, the minister said.
