Mangalore, Oct 27: Two persons including a newly-married woman were killed in separated road accidents near Thokkottu here on Thursday October 26.

However, among the deceased, the identity of only one person has been established whereas nothing is known about a pedestrian who was run over by Tata Sumo.

Rashmi, wife of Vinay was killed on the spot after the mobike they were travelling hit by a lorry at Kotekar Beeri.  Rashmi who was riding pillion died on the spot while Vinay escaped with minor injuries.  Rashmi, a resident of Kotekar had married Vinay only a couple of months ago and on Thursday, the couple was going home after visiting one of their relatives'.

In another roadcrash, an unknown pedestrian was knocked down by a speeding Tata Sumo vehicle at Thokkottu.  Such was the impact of the accident that the pedestrian died immediately on the spot.  Though the Tata Sumo escaped from the spot, police managed to seize it near Pumpwell Circle here later.

The Ullal police have registered two separate complaints in this regard.
