17-year-old boy meets watery grave at Padukone

Kundapur, Oct 26: A 17-year-old boy who went to swim with his friends lost his life after drowning in river at Hadavu nearby Padukone,Kundapur.

Deceased is identified as Akshay Poojary, resident of Nadaguddeangadi.

Akshay Poojary, son of late Veerappa Poojary, was working in Bangalore. After joining the job in Bangalore,for the first time he had returned to his grandfather's house near Guddeangadi panchayath for two days.

On Saturday morning, Akshay Poojary along with his three friends went to Sowparnika river at Hadavu village for swimming.

Akshay returned to river bank completing his swim. He jumped into the river for the second time, but the force of river pulled and drowned him in the water.

As there was no houses at the bank of the river, no one came to his rescue.

A person named Peter D'Souza lifted out the dead body of the boy from the water.

After the post mortem, body was handed over to the relatives.

Akshay had lost his parents at a young age. He was looked after by his grandfather and grandmother. He had no interest in studies. He had even failed in SSLC. With the help of his aunt, he had got a job at Bangalore. He had come to his grandfather's place on a two days leave. He was about to return to Bangalore on Sunday for his work.

He is survived by his younger sister who is studying in ninth standard.

Gangoli Police have registered case.

    Wasim, How do you know he was disobeying anyone? If you read the article properly, you would have found that his parents are already dead.

    Lastly, if you cannot say something good for the departed soul, don't say anything at all. How would you feel if someone made such an insensitive comment to someone you cared about?

    @Wasim,Dubai,I think you have to say sorry to the Soul of this Boy.either you didnt read properly what the matter is,or didnt understand the english .Anyway dont do this in future.
    For the Grand parents it will be a big shock ,after they lost their son/daughter ,now this tragody.Sometime we dont know what can happen to us and when.May his Soul rest peace.Many times even a good swimmer cannot comeout of the water grave and loses life.
