Mysore, Oct 26 : As the part of concluding programme,“March for Peace and Progress” the youth rally was organized fromSt.JosephCatherdralChurch Mysore to St. Philomena College Grounds on 26 October 2014 at 9 am. Mr. Abayachandra Jain, Minister for Youth and Sports flagged off the youth rally in the presence of Rt Bernard Moras president KRCBC, Rt Antony Swami the Bishop of Chickamagalur, Rt LawerenceMukkuzhy the Bishop of Belthangady, Rt Gee Varghese Mar Dionasis the Bishop of Puttur, Rt George Manjarlakatt Bishop Mandya , Rt DerickFernandes Bishop of Karwar , Ivan D Souza MLC, Raymond D Souza Member of Minority Monitoring Committee and National youth adviser Fr. Antony raj DYD of Mysore, Fr. Mari Joseph RYD.
Inaugurating the rally Mr. Abhayachandrajain stressed the need of peace and progress in the society. The rally started from St.JosephCathedaral Church moved towards fountain circle,Bannimantappa finally it culminated at the venue of the convention. More than 3000 youth marched with pluck cards carrying the messages of peace, progress, national integration, and inter-religious harmony,praising and professing the catholic faith.
After the rally Br. Mario from Divine Potta and Fr.Faustine Lobothe National Director for Pontifical Mission addressed the youth.
Speaking at the formal concluding program of the yuvajanotsava2014, held after the rally at St. Philomena college ground Mr. Oscar Fernandessaid,”Youth must stand on their feet and pledge to become good citizens”. Ivan D’souza MLCsaid ,the youth must love the country and society by serving in various fields. After releasing the book ”
Yuvadarmopadesha” Most. Rev. Dr. Bernard Moras Arch Bishop of Bangalore and the President of the programmesaid,“The word of God must become an inspiration for the youth which will bring true Joy and happiness in the Lord. With this if they enter into any areas of life and can make a difference by eradicating the evils in those areas”.
The three days of Regional Youth Convention 2014 ended withthe concelebratedthanks giving Eucharist presided over by Most. Rev. Bernard Moras the Arch Bishopof Bangalore, during which Most Rev. Francis Serao S.J. broke the word of God. On This occasion all the committeemembers werefelicitated.It was decided that the next Regional youth convention will be held in Mangalore.
