Murder of Kanchan Textiles Manager – accused surrenders

Mangalore, Oct 27: Relating to the murder of Dinesh Raj, manager of Kanchan Textiles here, one of the murder­accused, Munir (24) from Uchchila near Kotekar, surrendered in the court. Dinesh Raj was murdered about two years ago, and police have named 14 persons as accused in the case.

With the surrender of Munir, 12 of the accused have been found. Two more are yet to be located. Munir, who had surrendered in the court last week, was taken for a day's custody on October 25. He was sent back to judicial custody on Sunday October 26.

Dinesh Raj had been slain by a gang which arrived in a Tata Sumo vehicle near Lady Goschen Hospital in the city at around 8 pm on February 14, 2012. Lethal weapons had been used to kill him. Bunder police, who had registered the case, had taken up investigation and arrested several of the accused over a period of time.
