Dammam : Mangalorean Association hosts colourful Talents Day

Dammam, Oct 29: A magnificent display of the hidden talents of kids, teens and adults of Mangalore Association of Saudi Arabia (MASA) was shown at its 8th Talents Day competition on Friday, 10th October 2014 at Crystal Hall, Dammam powered by M/S Arabian Cargo Services and supported by M/S Al Manafa Transport Services Co. The event took off with a welcome note by the Entertainment Committee Head, Sathish Bajal followed by lighting of the ceremonial lamp by MASA president, Advisory Committee, Executive Committee and other Committee Heads.

President Dayanand Shriyan, while addressing the gathering appreciated large number of members coming forward to take part in various events. He mentioned that all participants who are performing on stage are winners. Before concluding his speech he appealed everyone for maintaining one minute silence in remembrance of unfortunate demises of MASA active members Vinaya Bhandary and Farzana Musheer. The demise of MASA member Vasanth Shetty was also remembered at the same time.

The Chief Judge, Naveen Bhandary briefed on the contest rules before the start of various events of Singing, Fancy Dress and Dance Competitions. He also appealed the audience to cheer up all participants to boost their energy and inspire all participants for their day and night effort with motivational words.

MASA Committee, volunteers and the participants ensured that the event was organized smoothly in a professional way. Thanks to Jt. Secretaries Mohammed Nooman and Vidyadhar Shetty for their well-coordinated effort among the members and various committees in setting the stage of great display. The main objective behind MASA Talents Day competition is to create a platform and to build up the confidence level and positive atmosphere among the participating members (kids, teens and adults). About 82 items were presented in various categories. During the course of the competitions, lots of amazing talents with new concept, creativity and classical acts were showcased. Audience could not believe their own eyes who witnessed a quality display of varieties of amazing talents. Judges had a tough time in selecting the best among the best. A gathering of around 500 members and guests enjoyed the evening filled with stunning and exciting entertainment. Tasty snacks, beverages and delicious dinner was served during the course of the event. During the event, as a part of MASA’s tradition, the parents on visit from India were welcomed to the stage and felicitated with shawls and bouquets.

All the judges were welcomed and honored with bouquets before the start of each event and were introduced to audience by Ravi Karkera. The judges of the events were: Viraj Kumar Shetty, Lekhraj Sharma, Mrs. Praveena Sukumar Shetty, Mrs. Prita Arun Bangera, Kanthi Yashwanth Sanil, Parinitha Gopal Shetty, Abraham Valiyakala, Sadanand Poojary, Nancy Vijay Naveen, Vidyadhar Shetty, Sanjeeva Anchan, Narendra Shetty, Neelam Lekhraj Sharma, Archana Chittaranjan Shetty, Sunitha Shiryan, Anitha Anchan and Ashwini Puttaraju. Timers and tally counters were Prakash Shetty and Puttaraju.

Anchors of the evening were Nayaz Kaiser(Head), Amrit Arun D’Souza, Saritha Aranha, Master Chirag Harshraj Rai, Mahima Sadanand Poojary, Miss Divya Ganesh Karkera, Master Roshan Hussain, Sujaya Ravi Karkera, Sumithra Pradeep Kadekar and Olivia Jean Mathias.

Kudla Adventrue Seniors presented a special entertainment item, which was thoroughly enjoyed by the audience.
All participants were invited on the stage during the award ceremony. Medals were presented to all children below 18 years of age. Winners were declared and awarded with attractive trophies.

Advisory committee member Ravi Karkera appreciated all the volunteers and committee members for their great efforts in displaying a grand show of talents day competition. He appreciated Raffle Committee Head Puttaraju & Team and young children for the excellent marketing of raffle tickets among the audience. Members were happy to take home from the lucky draws attractive raffle & Door Prizes.

The mesmerizing event came to an end at 1:30 am by singing the National Anthem. Ravi Karkera invited the gathering for upcoming events MASA’s food festival 2014 followed by Annual Day.
