Mangalore: FB Love – Jerry Francis arrested for abduction of minor girl

Mangalore, Oct 30 : Mangalore rural police have arrested a person in connection with the abduction of a minor girl.

The arrested person has been identified as Jerry Francis (18) from Ambalapura of Alappuzha district in Kerala.

It is said that Jerry Francis used to chat with a girl aged 16, who was studying in  PUC in Mangalore. The facebook friendship continued for over 18 months, after which Jerry decided to come to the city to meet the girl personally. It is learnt that he stayed here for two days before taking her to his hometown on October 23.

The parents of the girl complained to the police about the disappearance of the girl. The police tracked them through Facebook and collected his number. Then they reached Ambalapura in Alappuzha and nabbed him on October 29.

The accused who had failed to clear SSLC examination, works as a welder in a fabricating shop, it is gathered. The police have revealed that the minor girl will be subjected to medical tests.

Meanwhile, the accused has been remanded to judicial custody.

    I hope honourable court intervenes and does Justice here. If the girls appears before magistrate gives her consent , charges of kidnapping should be quashed. Moreover crpc 2013 , exclusion of age of consent if girl is married ( which is 15 ) should b leveled against any POSCO charges. ( Even high courts show leniency in such cases ) . Anyways God bless them and their future.

    In this case there is also mistake of girl because she also used to chat with him for about 18 months. If the girls maintain their decency then they can be avoided falling under trap of such guys.

    @ Sandesh Bangalore,chatting for 18months o.k.but that doesnt mean that she should go with him without informing parents,since she is studying still and a minor.She doesnt know where he will take her and what may happen.Taking a step without thinking.He doesnt even look decent for a 18years old Boy.she must have lost mind.chatting nowadays is like reading a News paper.cant avoid.

    this is the world we are at. very very dangerous situation we and our children are in. They more connected other unwanted stuffs than they should be connected to. How much you will be able to mentor, especially when they are high school and above, it's very challenging to make them hear and understand. Also the effort from other wrong side will be more than what you will be able to. It's our own past has contributed us this environment. any ways, if we all try to correct this we will be able to. any ways good that at least this girl is saved.
