Mohali, Oct 30: Australian wicketkeeper Adam Gilchrist claimed his 400th victim in the Champions Trophy Group A tie against India on Sunday, cementing his position as the one-day game's leading gloveman.

The 34-year-old Gilchrist reached the landmark when he caught Sachin Tendulkar for 10 off paceman Glenn McGrath.

Gilchrist, playing in his 245th match, has now claimed 355 catches and 45 stumpings.

South African stumper Mark Boucher lies second with 331 victims from 223 games, including 18 stumpings.

Mohali: The crucial Champions Trophy clash between India and Australia that Australia won was a landmark match for umpire Steve Bucknor as he became only the third official to stand in his 150 one-day internationals.

Only England's David Shepherd and South African Rudi Koertzen have officiated in more matches than the West Indian Bucknor and only four others have done 100 or more.

"I never thought I would get this far as, back when I started, there was the chance to stand in just a few matches every year," the 60-year-old Jamaican said.

"But now I can look back and think about the ICC Cricket World Cups and many other matches I have umpired and it makes me feel very proud."

ICC President Percy Sonn paid a special tribute to Bucknor when he said: "To reach the top in any profession you have to be very good and Steve is exactly that.

"This landmark is a tribute to Steve's skill, dedication and consistency, all qualities that are needed to be a top umpire."

In addition to umpiring in 150 ODIs, Bucknor has also donned the white coat in more Test matches - 113 - than anyone else.
