Mangalore, Oct 30: Farmers can earn well if they indulge in crafts along with agriculture, said M Hanumantappa, co research director at Agriculture and Horticulture research center in Brahmavar.

He was speaking after inaugurating a training programme held at Ullal's Kapikad agriculture and horticulture center under the aegis of Agriculture and Horticulture University, Shimoga and Prajna counseling center, Kankanady.

It is possible to have change of mind by agriculture and rearing of animals. Illnesses will go away with them, he said.

Special expert of agriculture, Vijetha and Dr U S Patil Kaithota gave information on organic manure, earthworm manure, transplant bundle and so on.

Prajna counseling center Project co-ordinator Devadas Ullal presided over the programme. Research center Brahmavar insect science expert Dr S M Patil was the chief guest.

Research center head Dr Laxman welcomed. Prajna center social activist Dhanalaxmi gave a key note address. Ullal agricultural research center expert Pravin S Kumpala compered the programme and proposed vote of thanks.
