Kasargod, Nov 3: The much-awaited passenger train between Byndoor in Kundapur taluk of Udupi district and Kasargod will be pressed into service in December this year.

This was stated by Anand Prakash, Palakkad divisional manager of Southern Railway. He was speaking to media persons on Sunday November 2, after holding discussions with local MP, P Karunakaran, relating to improvement of railway services.

Anand disclosed that the running of the above train faces technical problems in meeting a demand for touching Mangaluru Central station en route to Byndoor. He also added that the demand for extending this train to Kannur is under consideration.

I am sure frequent train service between Kundapur and Mangalore would not only drastically reduce the traffic on the NH 66 but also the increasing road accidents.
