'Technidarshan - 14' inaugurated at Nitte Engineering College

Nitte, Nov 3: The 5th edition of three day intercollegiate national level technical fest, Technidarshan -14, the chequered flag edition hosted by NMAM Institute of Technology, Nitte from Nov 1 - 3 was inaugurated on November 1 morning along with Kannada Rajyothsava celebrations by renowned Scientist & Columnist Professor Sudhindra Haldodderi , Professor & Head, Department of Aerospace Engineering, Alliance University, Bangalore.

In his inaugural speech he said “The space technology is so advanced that it helps us to lead a luxury life. It energized the advancement of communication and India is becoming number one in launching the communication satellites in the world. The advancement of communication also helped most of the IT companies to survive in India”. Further he said “ as it was the opinion of H. J. Bhabha and Vikram Sarabhai, strength respects strength, especially after the success of the Mars Orbital Mission, many technologically advanced countries started knocking doors of India to join hands in various projects. Those were the days we used to import transponders needed for the satellites and now we are technologically so strong enough to export such transponders to other countries. Most of the cryogenic engines, military helicopters supercomputers etc., we, the Indians could able to develop indigenously and the contribution by the people of Karnataka in such sophisticated technology is worth mentioning”.





“The people from Coastal region including Professor U R Rao, space scientist and former chairman of the Indian Space Research Organisation and B N Suresh, Indian aerospace scientist gave a remarkable contribution to the field of space science and you, the students can also think of entry into the field of aerospace where the opportunities are many to exhibit your technical talents” he added.

Principal Dr Niranjan N.Chiplunkar, in his presidential speech said. “If the developed technology reaches the user, then it is a great work and the students have to think in the direction to develop the technology which benefits the society”. He also mentioned the work of Prof. K.V.Rao who developed “Nudi” which is a Kannada software. He also mentioned about the role played by our students in picosatellite and also studsat II in association with ISRO. He advised the students to participate in the events of Technidarshan with sportsman spirit and insisted everybody to take part in Swachh Bharat Abhiyan by keeping the surroundings clean.

During the occasion a book consisting of 100 Sanskrit subhashitha translated into Kannada, Hindi and English edited by Dr Diwakar Bhat, Libraria, NMAMIT, dedicated to late justice K S Hegde couple was released and the Institute Robotics Research Laboratory was also inaugurated during the occasion. Dr I Ramesh Mithanthaya,vice principal and dean, Dr Srinivasa Rao, vice principal and COE, coordinators Professor Vishwanath and Rashvik Sharma were on stage.

This fest, TechNidarshan is a platform for the technical students to equip themselves to face the present challenges in the field of techinal education. Besides workshops and seminars on current topics, competitions in more than 50 technical events such as Circuit Saga, Burn and Run, Twistease, Justified, Surya sparsham, Tech Roadies, PCB & Bridge Design, Laborious, Adrenaline Rush etc are being held in various branches of Engineering. As a special attraction, entertainment from “Lagori’ team from Bangalore is also arranged on the second day. In this fest, more than 2000 technical students from various parts of the country have already registered to take part in various events
