Mangalore, Nov 1: At a colourful show comprising dances and music, the 50th year celebration of Kannada Rajyotsava was held in Nehru Maidan on Nov 1.
The District Rajyotsava Awards 2006 were given away to 43 prominent personalities including Dr Kurunji Venkataramana Gowda, Sullia, Bajpe airport director M R Vasudeva and theatre personality Felix Saldanha.
Young talents Jyotsna and Anusha Umesh Birthi also received the award.
Children from various government and private schools presented various programmes depicting the art and culture of the state.
