Kuwait : MP Nalin Kumar graces Buntaayana-Sangama 2014

Kuwait, Nov 4 : Buntara Sangha Kuwait celebrated its annual mega cultural event, “Buntaayana-Sangama 2014” at Cambridge English School auditorium; Mangaf Kuwait on Friday 24-Oct-2014 with profound glory and galaxy of stars from abroad to a packed auditorium.

This year Buntaayana makes it even special with honoring the past and stepping to the future with a grandeur celebration “Buntaayana-Sangama 2014”, the concept behind the event was to showcase various cultural activities by Sangha members and guest artists from India.

Nalin Kumar Kateel - Member of Parliament from Dakshina Kannada along with Sunil Jain - Indian Ambassador to Kuwait, Padmashri Dr. B.R Shetty – CEO of UAE exchange & NMC group of companies, Sarvotham Shetty - President of UAE Bunts and Abu Dhabi Karnataka Sangha, Dr. Narendra Rai Derla – eminent Kannada writer and professor and Vijay Kumar Tonse – Recipient of Karnataka Rajyotsava prasasthi and President of Kala Jagathu Mumbai graced the occasion.


























The rhythmic beats of the drums," chende" by the group of drummers, welcomed the guests at the entrance of the hall to a procession upto the auditorium. Beautiful ladies of Bunts community greeted the guests in to the hall with the traditional Purna Kumbha Swagatha

The entrance to the hall was beautifully decorated by the PR committee members led by Vice- President Neetu Shetty, the art and design work in the reception area represented the theme of the cultural activities, dance & music. Inside auditorium decoration were well done by Cultural Team lead by Santosh Rai. Hall management was taken care by Sports Secretary Raviraj Shetty bakrabail & Treasurer Shodhan Shetty Aikala along with Sudarshan Raju Shetty.

The cultural programs began at 12:30 PM with a prayer song and invocation dance by the Sangha members and kids, Lighting of the lamp/deepa to mark an auspicious beginning were done by Managing Committee, Guests & Ex- Presidents of the Sangha. Vice President Neetu Shetty welcomed the audience. On this occasion, “Buntayaana-Sangama 2014” Souvenir was released by Nalin Kumar Kateel.

Delicious lunch was sponsored by Oriental Restaurant.

The post lunch session started with felicitation of Dr. B.R Shetty, Nalin Kumar Kateel, Dr. Narendra Rai Derla, Sarvothama Shetty and VijayKumar Shetty with presentation of shawl, bouquet of flowers along with traditional tray of fruits.

BSK President Guruprasad Hegde in his speech briefed the audience about Sangha activities & the charity works done during the year. He also went on to applaud the sponsors without which a program of such magnitude wouldn’t have been possible. Students with outstanding academic records were appreciated and encouraged by presentation of memento. BSK also presented memento to the mega sponsor, UAE exchange and other Gold & Silver sponsors of the program as token of gratitude for their support.

The evening featured a host of programs from Sangha kids, ladies and gents. Guest artists from Mangalore, Karnataka Jyothi Smt. Vidyashree Radhakrishna and group mesmerized the audience with their commendable performance of classical dances. The evening was blended with various melodious songs sung by Rhythm orchestra group members from Mangalore and our own local and popular Kuwaiti singer, Mubarak Al-Rashed who added the extra zest by singing old and new Bollywood songs.

General Secretary Chethan Adappa proposed the vote of thanks. The program was well coordinated by Cultural Secretary Santosh Rai and the event was beautifully compered by Pushkal Kumar Tonse, Dr. Preeti P Shetty and Manoj Kumar Shetty.
Managing committee extends their gratitude to BSK members for their tireless efforts, the well-arranged and much talked about program came to an end with a raffle draw and singing of the Indian national anthem.
